(W)earth is a coming together of 2 trajectories. On the one hand it is a collection, over the years, of nostalgic objects. Table cloth, toys, tin plates, pedestals, plastic household items or food, when they speak to me, I collect them and make a mould. Playing around with the slipcast objects I gather from the moulds, different combinations are tried and tested. You could call them highly nostalgic collages in 3d. The second trajectory came into play when I got my hands on a bag of clay dug up from underneath my parents house. Growing up in a clay rich environment, for me this was pure gold. After some tests and experiments I decided to spray the work with a thin layer of this precious goo. The colour after firing reminded me of the terracotta we find all over the planet. The texture feels like sandpaper, although from a far it looks like velvet.
